Flying demons, a city in ruins...
... and a bit of a rodent problem I need to solve.
Being trapped in a post-apocalyptic city has its perks. Free dusty clothes, all the canned food you can eat, a slowly deteriorating city. Paradise.
Or it would be if the city wasn’t filled with man-eating Vilỳ, hundreds of Edmund’s men, and a mole. Not the massive blind rat things, but the kind that’s working for the massive blind rat things. By which I mean Edmund. It seems we have one of those, although we can’t figure out who it is.
Watching Edmund stay one step ahead of us is doing nothing for the overall morale, however.
Which is already pretty low seeing as we are trapped inside of Edmund’s Zit. And yes, I know, we decided not to call it that, but it’s feeling a bit too accurate nowadays.
Thom’s still in a coma, Sain is deteriorating, Wyn is a bit of a mess, and did I mention the mole?
Ilyan and I just need to keep everything together, which would be so much easier if my father would keep his nose out of things.
If anyone’s a zit, it’s him.
Joclyn, Ilyan, and all the others are in a bit of a pickle. Okay, not a pickle, a giant ugly red zit. The danger level is about to crank itself up to eleven. Good thing we have two powerful girls on our side, ready to kick butt.

Dawn of Ash Imdalind Series Book 7 eBook Rebecca Ethington
I am conflicted on this review. I absolutely loved the first two books in this series and had such high hopes for it and the more I read the more those hopes are dashed. My first issue is all of the different POVs. I will honestly say I am not a fan of more than one, I totally feel that less is more and in this case I feel like they totally detract from the story. I am beginning to think every character in this series is just crazy and maybe we would be better off if they just totally destroyed each other. It is also not fun to be inside of all of this craziness, there were many times I had no clue what was going on and I don't think the character did either. For me, there are so many things that don't make sense. Like, how Edmund be controlling Ryland and not know everything that is going on in their camp or how Sain can pull so much from others, but they can't do the same from him. Then Joclyn is supposed to be so powerful, but all we see are her weaknesses. I want her to become that strong heroine that she has the potential to be and I am afraid that it won't happen. I fell in love with Joclyn and and Ilyan in the first two books and its seems they are becoming more and more nonexistent and the pieces of them I see are not pieces I enjoy. Then there has been all of this build up with Edmund for the past 5/6 books for it to end so anticlimactically. I guess I just wanted so much more for them and it seems like Ms. Ethington is trying too hard and its not working. I have come too far to stop reading now, but I no longer have high hopes for the final book.Product details

Dawn of Ash Imdalind Series Book 7 eBook Rebecca Ethington Reviews
OMG 😮 juts when I think it CANNOT get any better !!!! The author goes and does it!!! Yes the POV’s does get confusing at times, but the book is a page turner, and yes some people find it a turn off, but if you are truly invested, then you will enjoy this series as I can’t put it down!!!!
If you do not want spoilers please don’t read beyond this point!!!!
Joclyn can't decipher sight from reality because Sain told her she broke the sights, and she created a Zlomeny., and that her owner is taken all her magic because she isn’t worthy!?!?? Really!?!?! he is one sick man!!!
Sain is implanting lies into the people, to have them view Joclyn, their queen as unstable and dangerous, the rumors he is spreading is beyond crazy, and the people just bow to him!!! REALLY?!? In what world, does anyone not second guess him or question this?!?!
The couple's suspicion of Sain only grows more and more each day...with good reason. I've never wanted to let my words reach these characters so badly before...like when your watching a scary movie and you yell at the girl to turn around. I just want to tell them so badly the truth! The terrible surprising truth!
Wynifred has been going crazy since the removal of the shard of the soul blade from Rylands heart. It done something to her, the evil of the shard swaying her. The voice of her daughter haunting her...pushing her to save her and she will try no matter what...no matter who stands in her way, even her friends. She doesn't realize the mistake she has made, but she will before she can even get anywhere.
The sight is shown...the true sight...what it was meant to be before everything was broken...Everyone who entered the sight was shown their own truth.
A child shown to dreaming....whom he must dispose of...but it's so Much more complicated than that...too many people involved....and in a shocking turn of events, we see the death of an evil person! One long overdue! To bad it’s the wrong one in my opinion!!!!
The ending will leave you breathless and asking yourself why??? A million times over!!!! I will not give this away !!!
OMG 😮 I am still writing, I hope the next book is the last one and all my questions are answered and that there is a HEA for everyone!!!! Or I may be disappointed 😔 really bad!!!
Definitely, recommend this series!!!!
I FINALLY finished this book last night! Even though I got it the day it was released, I had started re-reading the series a few weeks prior to remind myself where everything was at the end of Burnt Devotion (and as anyone who has read Imdalind knows, there are a lot of characters to keep track of), and it took me longer than I thought it would. Once I started reading DoA, I finished it in about a week. With a full-time job and two young children, that tells you how much time I really have to devote to reading--I found myself reading it on the way from my car to my office just because I didn't want to put it down! The author has created a world that is so intricate, so detailed, and sometimes so confusing that now I'm going to go back and read this one again instead of moving on to the next book I've been dying to read on my .
Switching character POV every few chapters may have added a little bit to my confusion, but it also added so much depth to the overall story and really helped me understand the motivation for some of the characters. I did feel like this one moved quite a bit away from Joclyn and Ilyan, who have always been our main focus, which was equal parts good and bad (good because it helped develop other characters, bad because I love Joclyn and Ilyan and wanted more about them!). I was a little let down by the last few chapters, as I felt the whole series had been building to one particular scene and it apparently isn't going to happen, at least not in the way we expected. But I'm not too upset, as it's perfectly possible we will still get *something* like it. That's how it is with all storylines that involve foresight and predictions, things are fulfilled in different ways than you thought.
I will say the book would benefit from some more editing and proofreading. I noticed several punctuation errors, mistaken homophones (thrown instead of throne, vile instead of vial, etc.), and some descriptive words were overused. I'm a perfectionist though so those things just stick out to me. Overall, I would say to the author well done, keep plugging along, get some editing help, and I very much look forward to Crown of Cinders.
